Rita Ora just released the video for her fifth and probably last single from her debut album ORA. The video was released via HungerTV's website, and the producer was the famous fashion photographer Rankin. As you may know, Facemelt is the single I am talking about, and it is the first track on Rita's album. It is also the shortest track on the album with the length of 1:33. And it is such a shame considering the fact it is a smash. Produced by the amazing DJ Switch (who worked with M.I.A., Beyonce etc.) it is a definite stand out on the album. The sick beats and even sicker lyrics are what made the song so infectiously good. And I was hoping we would get some extended version with the video. But, I was wrong. The video lasts, like the song, a bit more than a minute and a half. And the video is pretty good. Rita looks hot while posing behind red velvet and showing her assets. I am not sure how many people will buy a single that is this short, and kinda unfinished, but I guess that's what the sexy video is there for.
It's been exactly four years since Little Boots released her debut album Hands. I remember what a wind of fresh air this girl was. Her songs sounded just too cool and they were catchy as hell. But she never was a huge success she deserves to be. Now, she is back with her second album, and a video for the fourth single from that album. When I first heard Broken Record, I wasn't so much into it. It was cool, but I never gave it a second spin. Now that the video is here, and I hear the song again, I have to say, I was mistaken. There is something about this song, something you can't point your finger to, but it makes the song stand out. Maybe it's the cool beats or (again) a catchy chorus. Not sure, but I actually like the song very much. It's still not New In Town or Meddle, but it's close. I am glad Little Boots is back, and I sure hope she will have the chart success she deserves.
So after Work became a top 20 hit in the UK, it was only a matter of time until we heard a follow-up single from Iggy. And now that single is out. Well, on YouTube at least. The second single from Iggy's debut album The New Classic is titled Bounce. And while i liked Work, I was never really blown away by it. But I am absolutely amazed by what Iggy served up now. The song is more in the dance genre than the previous single, and it is such a fun song. It's a definite summer jam, a song that will get the party going. Iggy isn't rapping too much this time, but just like with Nicki Minaj, I think Iggy will do good with these pop-dance songs. And I just got to add Ms. Azelea looks amazing on the cover of the single.
It's finally here. Ever since it was announced that Beyonce and Andre 3000 would cover Amy Winehouse's hit Back To Black, everyone was eager to hear how that would turn out. A snippet was made available a couple of days ago, and the critics weren't blown away. Now that the full song is here, they are still underwhelmed. The few reviews I have read have really bashed the song. So, I expected the song to be bad. But after hearing it for the first time, I have to say it actually isn't. It's pretty good to be honest. Yes, it is not as good as the original, but in its own way this version is nice. I really like the slow and smooth beat and Beyonce's sexy voice. Even Andre, who I don't like very much, is good here. It will take me a few more spins to give my final opinion, but for now, I really think this cover was done nicely.
Jason Derulo released the lyric video for his first single of the yet-untitled third album. The title of the song is The Other Side and Derulo has stated the song was written for his girlfriend, Jordin Sparks. By the lyrics you can definitely see it was meant for someone special. The song has a nice rhythm, the lyrics are well written, and even though I don't like Jason for using too much autotune, here his voice sounds fine. The only thing I think this video doesn't need is Jason. While his dancing is good, it might draw attention from the lyrics (and this is a lyric video!). Oh, and the sweater he's wearing is so bad, I can't find words to describe it.
I've been waiting for Kelis to release something new for what appears to be too long. Her last album Flesh Tone was an amazing dance album, and I can honestly say I liked each and every one of the songs on the album. So, when I heard there is a new Kelis track on the web, I was excited to hear it. And after I listened to it, I am not sure how I feel about it. I expected that Kelis will continue in the same direction, stick to the dance genre, but she did a one-eighty and returned to the type of music she first did when she came on to the scene. I don't dislike her previous music, but I really feel Kelis fits perfectly in the dance genre. Yes, Milkshake, Bossy and all the other previous songs were great, but Acapella and 4th of July were iconic. So when I heardJerk Ribs I was confused to say the least. It's good, Kelis' voice is still great, there are horns in the song, but I am not sure if this is the direction I wanna see Kelis going in for the next album. Maybe it will take me a few spins to actually see how good this song is. We'll see.
Muse is one of those bands I am not a huge fan of, but every time they release something, I love, or at least like it. They have yet to release something that isn't worth mentioning. Ever since I've first heard of them, seven years ago, they have been constantly good. Not good, excellent. And now, the guys are here with a new video for their fifth 2nd Law single, Panic Station. First of all the song is very good and pretty cheerful for a Muse song. Secondly, the video is out of this world. I don't think I would ever think Muse would pull off something like this, but now that they have, I am glad they did. The video looks like it was shot in Japan and it's full of Japanese monsters, crazy colors and it all looks like an LSD-induced dream. Oh, and Matt is wearing a red furry coat. Brilliant!
After three teasers, the official video for David Guetta's Play Hard is here. And after watching it I can honestly say I am not sure what just happened. The video is revolving around Mexican guys who are wearing some weird pointy shoes. The video starts in their hood where there is an older woman with a golden mask and where girls are booty-shaking against the wall. Later, we can see some girls eating ice cream and those guys with pointy shoes dancing in some field. I know not many of Guetta's videos make sense, but this one is really something. And I gotta add even the song isn't that great. You would expect it to be amazing since it features Akon and Ne-Yo, but it's just an average dance song.
Yesterday, we heard the brilliant track by Lana Del Rey which will be on The Great Gatsby soundtrack. Today we can enjoy in the equally amazing track by Nero. The song is titled Into The Past and it definitely sounds like a Nero song, but to me it also sounds like it is a song made to be in a movie. And since I am a fan of both Nero and movie songs, this track is an absolute masterpiece for me. Alana's seductive voice and the slow, but sensual dubstep music fit perfectly again. I said yesterday, and I will say it again, The Great Gatsby soundtrack will be one hell of a CD!
Last couple of days, the entire web was talking about Ciara's new video for Body Party. Everybody was excited after a couple of teasers and couldn't wait to see the entire video. The wait is over and fortunately it wasn't long. The video was released a couple of hours ago, and it is sensational. The concept of the video is about how she met her current boyfriend, rapper Future. The video is filled with sexy close-ups, party shots and Ciara's seductive dancing. She really showed us some moves that are so good, even Nicki Minaj had to praise her. The only thing I have to state is that I liked the previous two singles, Sorry and Got Me Good, much more, but since they failed to enter any charts, I am hoping this one will give Ciara a hit that she deserves.
The soundtrack for The Great Gatsby is gonna be one hell of a CD. Last week we heard Florence's track from the album, and we already know that among other artists who will be on the album are: Beyonce, Nero, Sia and Jack White. Now, Lana joins this bunch with her song Young & Beautiful. I don't know why, but the name of the song completely suits Lana. Of course, the song is amazing. The lyrics are very good, and Lana's voice is top-notch. It's four minutes of Lana doing what she does best. Even though I haven't heard all of the songs from the soundtrack, I think it's gonna be epic. Lana's song is definitely a step in the right direction.
Within Temptation, one of the best symphonic metal bands in the world, have released a video for their cover of David Guetta's hit, Titanium. The song comes off their cover album The Q-Music Sessions where they covered Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey and others. Even though I am not a huge fan of covers, I have to say these are amazing. I understand why they chose to make a video for Titanium since it could easily pass as a rock-metal song. Sharon's voice is powerful as always and it just makes me wonder how would the song sound if Sharon replaced Sia in the original version of the song. Oh, and the video is just a bunch of shots from their live performances. Nothing special, yet very good.
When a friend told me 30 Seconds To Mars have released a new video, I couldn't care less. To be completely honest, I am not really a fan of the band and I only know a few of their songs (and maybe like one or two). But then he told me Dita Von Teese was in the video, and I knew I had to, at least see the video. And while I wanted to see the video only because of Dita, I actually stayed because the whole video is nicely done, and the song isn't that bad. The name of the song is Up In The Air and the main vocalist of the band, Jared Leto, was actually the producer and director of the video. The video lasts for more then 8 minutes and shows Dita riding a mechanical bull, different models posing, people throwing paint at each other and much much more. Besides Dita, expect to see Jordyn Wieber, McKayla Maroney and Ashley Smith. All in all, a great video for a very good song.
The French house duo, Daft Punk, have released a new single after a three year break. And the single is amazing. I can't believe that these guys are still killin' it even after being in the business for two decades! Their new single is called Get Lucky and features vocals from Pharrell Williams. I must say I expected something more up-beat, but I am very happy with this new song. It is a funky disco track that is absolutely the right thing for the hot days that are in front of us. Pharrell's vocals perfectly fit the song and I really can't find any flaws to this song. Let's just hope Daft Punk have more amazing songs like this that will be released in the near future.
I have an announcement to make. Maybe some of you have noticed the last two posts were entirely in English. The reason for that is, from now on, the blog will be completely in English. I have come to this decision for three reasons: 1. The number of my Serbian readers is very low, and I am sure they can understand my posts in English 2. It is much more time consuming writing in two languages 3. I can express myself better in English. The content won't change, and you can still expect posts about the coolest music out there. The only change is that all of the posts will be in English. Hope you support my decision.
Azealia Banks outdid herself when it comes to weirdness. The video for Yung Rapunxel has got it all. Everything from owls with heterochromia (different colored eyes) flying out of Azealia's head to breaking bottles in police officer's head to mouths where eyes are supposed to be. Also let's not forget eyes in hand palms and mechanical bulls. I expected video to be crazy, weird and visually amazing, but even I am in loss of words. It's everything we expected and more. I can't wait to see this spinning on MTVs around the world. I just hope this will give Yung Rapunxel the push it needs in order to conquer some charts.
Dutch DJ, Don Diablo, has been in the music business since 2004, but I have just heard of him. And I am happy I did. Don's latest single features Kelis and Alex Clare and is titled Give It All. I would have never guessed these two would go together so well. Both artists proved dance music is something they are good at, and now we can enjoy in this gem thanks to Don Diablo who put them together. The song is a mid-tempo club banger with cool lyrics and a very nice break. I don't quite get the video, but it is done nicely. While Kelis is nowhere to be seen, Alex appears in the video, and so does Don. I think Don Diablo still hasn't had a huge hit, and I think this song just might be it.

That of course doesn't come as a surprise since his album is filled with superstar collaborations and really amazing songs. In this video Calvin and Ellie film themselves being completely in love with each other until their camera gets stolen. And from there, the camera gets passed around and films everyone from a biker guy to some cute chicks who end up on Calvin's party. It's definitely a cool video for a cool song like this one. Nakon toga, kamera par puta menja svog vlasnika kako bi na kraju zavrsila kod devojaka koje su se bas uputile na Calvin-ovu zurku. Jako dobar i zanimljiv video koji ovakva pesma i zasluzuje.
Owner of YouTube's most watched video, Psy, has returned hoping to repeat the success of his last single. Last year everybody did the Gangnam dance. Is this the year of Gentleman dance? So, the new track is called Gentleman. The song again has infectious dance beat that will easily get stuck in your head and lyrics that are almost completely in Korean. Is it as infectious and crazy as Gangnam? Not really. But then again it took Gangnam some time to become the massive hit it is now. The video for the song was released a day ago and it already has almost 14 million views. The concept of the video is as crazy as Gangnam, if not crazier. In this video Psy is playing pranks on different girls until he finds a girl who will also play pranks on him. Unlike the previous video, there is no crazy horse dancing, or any kind of spectacular dance moves. Just hip swaying. Lots of it. Is this all enough to make Gentleman a huge worldwide hit? It is still too early to tell. But I do think it has a good chance.

Za razliku od prethodnog videa, ovde nema plesa ludog kauboja, niti bilo kakvih spektakularnih plesnih pokreta. Samo se mrda kukovima. I to dosta. Da li je sve to dovoljno kako bi Gentleman postao veliki svetki hit? Jos uvek je rano reci. Ali, mislim da postoje dobre sanse.
Tyga has released the video for his promotional single Molly. If you're thinking the name of the song sound familiar, that's probably because of Cedric Gervais' song with the same name. Tyga probably liked it a lot and decided to make a version of his own. While the repetitive usage of a robotic voice saying Molly is still present, the song is less dance, and more hip hop. But it is still good. Very good. The video is probably just what you would expect. A party with some robots and cyborgs. It's colorful and full of cool dancers. With the video out, I can see this song climbing the Hot 100 and becoming a hit on the club scene as well. Tyga je objavio spot za svoj promotivni singl Molly. Demi's latest, and one of the biggest hits, Heart Attack now has a video. The video was released on Demi's Vevo Youtube account two days ago, and it already has over 3 million views. I have to state that at first I didn't like the song, and I still don't like it that much, but it is catchy. The lyrics are ok, but too girly for my taste. As for the video, I expected something more, some sort of a story, but we got a pretty simple video. Demi can be seen in a black outfit against a darker background, and in a white outfit with black hands. The black hands remind me of Dev's In The Dark. Come to think of it, I am gonna go and watch and listen to Dev. Demi's ok, but still has a long way to go to be someone who will interest me. Moram reci da mi se pesma na prvo slusanje nije dopala i da mi i dalje nije nesto, ali da moram priznati da ima dobar ritam. Tekst je ok, ali isuvise zenskast. Sto se tice spota, ocekivao sam nesto vise. Ocekivao sam da ce imati neku pricu. Ono sto smo dobili je Demi u dve odevne kombinacije ispred dve pozadine. Uz jednu od kombinacija je ofarbala ruke u crno sto me podseca na spot Dev za In The Dark. Kad malo bolje razmislim, idem da gledam i slusam Dev. Demi je ok, ali ce morati jos da se menja da bi me zaintrigirala.
I consider myself a genuine Cassie fan. I have been a fan of hers ever since she came on the scene back in 2006 with Me & U and I have been following her work ever since. I think Cassie is a decent singer with some really cool and underrated song. Her last year's song King of Hearts is pure genius! Yet, it didn't chart anywhere, and went pretty much unnoticed. So Cassie now hopes her latest single Paradise will make her name appear on the charts again. The song is a collaboration with Wiz Khalifa, and the video for the song just came out. The video was filmed in a regular American gangsta hood, and is nothing spectacular. The song is very good. Nice lyrics, Cassie's sexy voice and Wiz's rapping make it really good. The song comes from Cassie's mixtape RockaByeBaby that comes out tomorrow. I am hoping the sales will be good because this girl deserves it. Sebe smatram pravim fanom Cassie. Nadajmo se da ce prodaja biti dobra jer ova devojka to stvarno zasluzuje.
We haven't heard much about Avril ever since the news she married Nickleback's singer Chad Kroeger. Now she's back in the news thanks to her new single Here's To Never Growing Up. The lyric video was just released on her Vevo Youtube account. The lyric video is made of her fan's pictures in different artistic and wacky poses. And while the video is pretty cool the same can't be said about the song. While I was Avril's fan in the beginning of her career, she began losing my interest with The Best Damn Thing, and than completely lost me with her last album. Her songs became boring to me, and the newest song is no exception. While the rhythm reminds me of some of her older songs, the song itself is dull with not so great lyrics. I guess teens will go nuts just because of the title of the song. I on the other hand will pray she goes back to the way she was back in 2004. Sve njene pesme su mi postale iste i dosadne i upravo to je i najnovija pesma. Dosadna i sa losim tekstom. Iako znam da ce tinejdzeri poludeti samo kad cuju ime pesme, ja cu se nadati da ce se Avril vratiti onim sjajnim pesmama kakve je imala na albumu Under My Skin, davne 2004 godine.
It's been almost two years since Natalie Mejia and Chrystina Sayers have left Girlicious. Since then there has been so little news about this girl group. Only news we had was that both of these girls joined but the left the Pussycat Dolls (more about the craziness in PCD in some of the other posts). So that has left the gorgeous blonde as the only member of the group. It didn't come as a surprise that the girls parted, not after the disastrous second album Rebuilt failed to make any chart impact. Now it looks like Girlicious isn't so dead after all. This Saturday it was revealed on the group's official Facebook page that Nicole will be joined by two more singers to resurrect Girlicious under the new name Girls United. I think the new name is not necessary but it would be strange that they kept the name with only one of the founding members still in the group (oh wait, isn't that what Sugababes did?). Anyway, the girls stated that we can expect some new music in 2013. Let's just hope it will be as good as some of their previous work.
Proslo je skoro dve godine od kako su Natalie Mejia i Chrystina Sayers napustile Girlicious. Od tada nije bilo vesti o ovoj grupi. Naravno, tu ne racunam vesti da su obe devojke usle, a potom i napustile Pussycat Dolls (vise o ludilu u PCD u nekom od sledecih clanaka). Dakle, prelepa plavusa Nicole je ostala jedini clan grupe. Naravno, raspad grupe nije bio iznenadjenje nakon sto njihov drugi album Rebuilt nije imao nikakvog uspeha na listama. Medjutim, sada izgleda da Girlicious ipak daje znake zivota. Ove subote na oficijalnoj Facebook stranici je izasla vest da ce se Nicole pridruziti jos dve devojke kako bi Girlicious digle iz mrtvih, i to sa novim imenom Girls United. Mislim da menjanje imena nije bilo potrebno, ali bi ipak bilo cudno da se i dalje zovu Girlicious nakon sto je samo jedna od originalnih clanica grupe i dalje tu (cekaj, zar nisu Sugababes bas to radile?). U svakom slucaju, u toku ove godine se mogu ocekivati nove pesme od grupe. Nadajmo se da ce biti slicne hitovima koje su imale u proslosti.
English singer, songwriter and drummer, Florrie, has released the video for her new song Live a Little. The video couldn't be more simple and more beautiful. Let's face it, when you are as gorgeous as Florrie, you don't need much. In the video we can see multiplied Florrie posing, singing, playing the drums, and the guitar. She is in a room with a few chairs, and wearing a simple white shirt. So simple but effective. It also doesn't hurt the song is pretty damn good. The trumpets, great lyrics and the infectious rhythm definitely make the song stand out. I just hope Florrie will be recognized as more than just a pretty face. Engleska pevacica, kompozitorka i bubnjarka, Florrie, je izdala spot za svoju najnoviju pesmu Live a Little. Spot nije mogao da bude jednostavniji, a ni lepsi. Florrie je toliko lepa da joj nije potreban ko zna kakav video da bi privukla paznju. U videu se moze videti Florrie koja je multiplikovana i sama radi sve. Svira gitaru, bubnjeve, trubu, a povremeno i ispozira. Tako jednostavno, ali efektivno. Takodje nije na odmet to sto je sama pesma odlicna. Trube, sjajan tekst i zarazan ritam su ono po cemu se ova pesma istice. Samo se nadam da Florrie nece biti poznata kao samo jos jedna simpaticna manekenka, vec i kao ozbiljna pevacica.
After so many push-backs will.i.am's fourth solo album, titled #willpower, is set to be released some time this month (you get different dates depending on the source). The album has had one huge hit (Scream and Shout) and one decent hit (This is Love). Now with the date of the album release getting closer, Will has released the official cover for the album. And after seeing it, I'm thinking he should take some more time to get this one right. Even though I am anxious to hear all the collaborations on the album (some of them including Nicole Scherzinger, Cheryl Cole, Avril Lavigne and Davig Guetta) I would gladly wait a bit more just not to look at this eye-stabbing cover. Could it have been more interesting and less orange? And would Will stop with that incredibly stupid hair cut? Album je do sada imao jedan veliki hit (Scream and Shout) i jedan manji hit (This is Love). Sada, kada je datum izlaska albuma sve blizi, Will je objavio oficijalni omot albuma. I nakon sto sam ga video, mislim da je bolje da jos malo saceka sa izdavanjem albuma. Iako nestrpljivo cekam da cujem neke od kolaboracija (ukljucujuci one sa Nicole Scherzinger, Cheryl Cole, Avril Lavigne i David-om Guetta-om), radije bih sacekao nego da moram da gledam ovaj omot od kojeg bole oci. Da li je omot mogao biti zanimljiviji i manje narandzast? I da li ce Will prestati sa ovom krajnje glupom frizurom?

The band's "video" for the latest single Levitate is the perfect example of smart promotion on Youtube. Two months ago they released a video made out of viral clips from Youtube and they have just put their song as a background music. They named the video PEOPLE ARE AWESOME 2013, and there you go. Over 56 million views and lots of new fans. The song even made an appearance on US Billboard Hot 100 and is currently at 69. What is strange about this is that they don't have any real hits back in the UK, yet they have cracked America. Now that's the power of Youtube. Hadouken! me iznenadjuje iz dana u dan. I to na najbolji moguci nacin. Britanski dens i haus bend je jos jednom pokazao svetu da ako koristis Youtube na pametan nacin, mozes da se lako ispromovises. Bend je pre dva meseca postavio "video" za svoj najnoviji singl Levitate. Umesto da su snimili pravi spot, video je napravljen od isecaka popularnih klipova sa Youtube-a, a njihova pesma se moze cuti u pozadini. Video je nazvan PEOPLE ARE AWESOME 2013. I bez imalo muke, eto 56 miliona pregleda i dosta novih fanova. Pesma je cak dospela na Americku Billboard Hot 100 listu gde se trenutno nalazi na 69. mestu. To se moze smatrati cudnim jer Hadouken! ne moze da se pohvali da ima hit u Velikoj Britaniji, a ipak eto ih na americkim listama. To se zove moc Youtube-a.
So, the video for the third Re-Up single is here. If you don't know what song I'm talking about, it's the Lil Wayne collaboration, High School. The song in my opinion is not single material. Yes, it's good, but not good enough. I think I'm Legit would have been a better choice. Why? The song is much better, and you have Ciara in it. And in my mind it's Ciara >>>>>>>>> Lil Wayne. And who wouldn't rather watch Cici's dancing than Lil Wayne's tattoo-covered body? OK, now on to the video. It's nothing spectacular, yet it has a story. Nicki is a mob wife who takes on a revenge against her hubby by sleeping with Weezy, and then running of with him. There are also scenes of Nicki in a green bathing suit, so that's the good part of the video. All in all, mediocre song, mediocre video, I don't expect this to make a boom. Spot za treci singl sa albuma Re-Up je tu. Ako ne znate o kojoj pesmi pricam, u pitanju je kolaboracija sa Lil Wayne-om, High School. Pesma po mom misljenju nije dovoljno dobra da bude singl. Da, dobra je, ali ne toliko. Mislim da je mnogo bolji izbor bio I'm Legit. Zasto? Pesma je sama po sebi mnogo bolja i umesto Wayne-a imamo Ciara-u. A u mojoj glavi je Ciara>>>>>>>>>>Lil Wayne. I ko ne bi radije gledao Ciara-ino igranje umesto Weezy-jevog tela prekrivenog tetovazama? I kako pesma nije nesto, tako ni video nije mnogo bolji. Postoji prica sto je plus, ali to ne mora znaciti da je video dobar. Naime, Nicki je u spotu zena mafijasa koja odlucuje da mu se osveti tako sto ce spavati sa Lil Wayne-om i pobeci sa njim na kraju spota. Jedini dobar deo spota je kada je Nicki u neonski zelenom kupacem. Sve u svemu, osrednja pesma, osrednji spot, tesko da ce ovo biti neki hit.
One of the biggest (if not the biggest) female DJs of today, Havana Brown, is really working hard on impressing everyone with her singing, dancing and DJing skills. After having a worldwide hit with Pitbull she still hasn't released a successful follow-up. Her songs are charting well on dance charts, but when it comes to the official charts, she's not doing so well. Now that all could change with her latest video for Big Banana. I know the video was released a week ago, but better late than never. The song is amazing in every way and features another great DJ, R3hab. The video is perfectly insanse and just what the song needs. In the video, Havana dances her ass off, poses in a bathtub filled with candy and of course eats a banana. Just what you expected, right? Jedan od najvecih (ako ne i najveci) zenskih DJeva danasnjice, Havana Brown, se stvarno trudi da nas impresionira svojim vokalnim, plesackim i DJ sposobnostima. Nakon sto je izdala svetski hit sa Pitbull-om, Havana je postala kraljica dens lista. Medjutim kada su u pitanju oficijalne liste, Havana jos treba da izda singl koji ce biti uspesan kao We Run The Night. Naravno, sve se to moze promeniti sa izlaskom spota za pesmu Big Banana. Znam da je video izasao pre nedelju dana, ali bolje ikad nikad nikad. Pesma je sama po sebi fantasticna i na njoj je radio jos jedan od boljih DJeva, R3hab. A spot je dovoljno lud da vam se pesma jos vise svidi nakon sto ga vidite. U video klipu Havana ima odlicne plesne rutine, pozira u kadi punoj bombona i naravno jede bananu. Bas ono sto smo ocekivali, zar ne?
