No, I am not talking about the historical figure, but about the Scottish rock band. After being absent for almost four years, Franz Ferdinand return with new material and a new album. Posted on their YouTube account, we can find two new songs, Love Illumination and Right Action. Both songs have dance and indie-rock elements, and both are quite enjoyable. I don't think it's as good as some of their previous material, but it is good. Right Action will be the lead single from their fourth album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (slated to be released on August 26.). I might prefer Love Illumination just a bit more, because it's more melodic and dance, but we'll see if they made the right choice with Right Action.
Lauren Bennett, Paula Van Oppen, Simone Battle, Emmalyn Estrada and Natasha Slayton are all names we have previously heard were supposed to be the new Pussycat Dolls. But now according to Robin Antin, there is a possibility the original Dolls will make a re-union, so the Pussycat Dolls name is reserved for them. So what did Robin decide to do with these girls? Make a new girl group of course! Judging by the first single and some promo photos, the group is supposed to look fun and crazy and not slutty which is not bad. But the bad thing is that their single Vacation is not that good as well. It's a fun catchy song, but it's definitely not a hit you need when launching a new group. But, there are other ways these girls are getting promoted. When you buy Britney's new single Ooh La La, you get Vacation for free. Yup, the girls are trying to make a name for themselves through Britney. A smart move? We'll see. I just hope the next single is better since they are supposedly working with Dr. Luke and Larry Rudolph.
Helena Paparizou, the Greek superstar and Eurovision 2005 winner, has released her latest album two days ago (you can listen to it here). Alongside the album, Helena has released the third single from the album (first single in English), Save Me (This is an SOS). The song is a mid-tempo dance number, something Helena is known for and good at. As a fan, I have listened to some of the other songs from the album, and I gotta say the album sounds good. Not amazing, but good. I love Helena's voice, and it's always a pleasure to hear it, but I am not such a fan of her songs that aren't in English and much more than that songs that aren't dance songs.
After having huge success in US and Canada with Come & Get It, Selena Gomez has released her second single from the album Stars Dance. Slow Down is a dancy song with cool beats and some dubstep breaks. It was produced by The Cataracts and since I am a fan of most of their work, I am a fan of this song as well. Even though I am not a fan of Selena, I gotta give credit where credit is due. I am not sure how the audience will react to the song and if the song is gonna be a hit, but I can definitely see the song conquering dance charts. It is a nice, up-beat summer song so why not enjoy in it? Also, Selena has released the official artwork (seen above) and track list for her first solo album. Since she says she was influenced by Britney and Skrillex, I expect an interesting album.
The ex-Nightwish vocalist, Tarja Turunen, is preparing a new album titled Colours In The Dark. And in order to make everyone aware of that, she has released a lyric video for Never Enough. Now, Tarja's fans will know that this song was featured on her live album, but that doesn't mean it's a bad choice for reminding everyone of Tarja's powerful voice and incredible songs. I have to admit I just heard the song a couple of days ago, and while it sounds a bit different from some of Tarja's previous work, it is still pretty damn good. The song might be more soft in my opinion, but that doesn't make it bad. The vocals are still one of the best female metal vocals I have ever heard and that's all that counts for me. The first single from the album, Victim of Ritual, will be released on July 12., so be prepared.
You read it right. The girl best known for her scandals (and a mediocre music career) has been signed by Cash Money Records. Some of the artists that are under the same label are Jay Sean, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. So what does Paris have in common with them? According to Birdman, one of the founders of the label, Paris is "very talented, and a beautiful young woman". He added we can expect new music from Paris very soon. Her entire new album will be produced by the amazing Afrojack. I really don't think Miss Hilton should be in the music business, but if the album is produced by such a good DJ, it's gotta be worth something. Lana Del Rey's most successful single so far, Young And Beautiful, got the accompanying video . The beautiful ballad got a video that looks like it was shot some decades ago, and I think that it goes perfectly with the song. While Lana is singing with two diamond tears on her face, we see the full-string orchestra playing in the background. The video has no specific story, but it is definitely the perfect visualization for the song. Let's see if the video will make the song even more popular.Oh, and while Lana's single is doing good on charts, The Great Gatsby soundtrack album, on which you can find this song, is predicted to sell more then 100.000 copies in the first week of its release.
I have an announcement to make. Maybe some of you have noticed the last two posts were entirely in English. The reason for that is, from now on, the blog will be completely in English. I have come to this decision for three reasons: 1. The number of my Serbian readers is very low, and I am sure they can understand my posts in English 2. It is much more time consuming writing in two languages 3. I can express myself better in English. The content won't change, and you can still expect posts about the coolest music out there. The only change is that all of the posts will be in English. Hope you support my decision.

Jedina stvar koja mi nije jasna je Ciara-ina izjava da ce pesmu Super Turnt Up uraditi u kolaboraciji sa Ciara-om. Sta bi to trebalo da znaci?! Nisam siguran, ali sam ubedjen da je u pitanju nesto zanimljivo.
It's been almost two years since Natalie Mejia and Chrystina Sayers have left Girlicious. Since then there has been so little news about this girl group. Only news we had was that both of these girls joined but the left the Pussycat Dolls (more about the craziness in PCD in some of the other posts). So that has left the gorgeous blonde as the only member of the group. It didn't come as a surprise that the girls parted, not after the disastrous second album Rebuilt failed to make any chart impact. Now it looks like Girlicious isn't so dead after all. This Saturday it was revealed on the group's official Facebook page that Nicole will be joined by two more singers to resurrect Girlicious under the new name Girls United. I think the new name is not necessary but it would be strange that they kept the name with only one of the founding members still in the group (oh wait, isn't that what Sugababes did?). Anyway, the girls stated that we can expect some new music in 2013. Let's just hope it will be as good as some of their previous work.
Proslo je skoro dve godine od kako su Natalie Mejia i Chrystina Sayers napustile Girlicious. Od tada nije bilo vesti o ovoj grupi. Naravno, tu ne racunam vesti da su obe devojke usle, a potom i napustile Pussycat Dolls (vise o ludilu u PCD u nekom od sledecih clanaka). Dakle, prelepa plavusa Nicole je ostala jedini clan grupe. Naravno, raspad grupe nije bio iznenadjenje nakon sto njihov drugi album Rebuilt nije imao nikakvog uspeha na listama. Medjutim, sada izgleda da Girlicious ipak daje znake zivota. Ove subote na oficijalnoj Facebook stranici je izasla vest da ce se Nicole pridruziti jos dve devojke kako bi Girlicious digle iz mrtvih, i to sa novim imenom Girls United. Mislim da menjanje imena nije bilo potrebno, ali bi ipak bilo cudno da se i dalje zovu Girlicious nakon sto je samo jedna od originalnih clanica grupe i dalje tu (cekaj, zar nisu Sugababes bas to radile?). U svakom slucaju, u toku ove godine se mogu ocekivati nove pesme od grupe. Nadajmo se da ce biti slicne hitovima koje su imale u proslosti.
After so many push-backs will.i.am's fourth solo album, titled #willpower, is set to be released some time this month (you get different dates depending on the source). The album has had one huge hit (Scream and Shout) and one decent hit (This is Love). Now with the date of the album release getting closer, Will has released the official cover for the album. And after seeing it, I'm thinking he should take some more time to get this one right. Even though I am anxious to hear all the collaborations on the album (some of them including Nicole Scherzinger, Cheryl Cole, Avril Lavigne and Davig Guetta) I would gladly wait a bit more just not to look at this eye-stabbing cover. Could it have been more interesting and less orange? And would Will stop with that incredibly stupid hair cut? I nakon sto sam ga video, mislim da je bolje da jos malo saceka sa izdavanjem albuma. Iako nestrpljivo cekam da cujem neke od kolaboracija (ukljucujuci one sa Nicole Scherzinger, Cheryl Cole, Avril Lavigne i David-om Guetta-om), radije bih sacekao nego da moram da gledam ovaj omot od kojeg bole oci. Da li je omot mogao biti zanimljiviji i manje narandzast? I da li ce Will prestati sa ovom krajnje glupom frizurom?
After a decade of hits, hot videos, and sold out arena tours, Girls Aloud, one of the biggest British girl groups, say goodbye to their fans. Rumors of the girls splitting have been there for a long time, and since the hiatus there were more and more of them. Now, after their biggest hits album, Ten, and another biggest hits tour, they officially stated: "We have now come to the end of our incredible time together." The message came from their official twitter, and after thanking the fans for sticking with them for so long, they announced the end of their career as a group. I do believe we will still hear more from Cheryl, Nadine, Nicola and the others, but now as solo artists. I was a big fan of the girls, and they did have some really good songs (some of my favorites can be seen at the end of the post), but I knew this day was coming, and while they will be missed, UK offers a lot of other amazing artists, so it's OK. Nakon decenije ispunjene hitovima, seksi spotovima i rasprodatim turnejama, Girls Aloud, jedan od najvecih Britanskih girl-bendova je resio da je doslo vreme da se rastanu. Iako su glasine da ce se rastati tu vec godinama, sada je to i zvanicno. Prosle godine su izdale album sa najvecim hitovima, Ten, i sada kada su zavrsile i turneju, devojke su se oglasile preko svog twittera i rekle da je dosao kraj njihovom zajednickom putu. Devojke su se zahvalile fanovima na svoj podrsci i iako ih vise necemo slusati kao grupu, siguran sam da ce Cheryl, Nadine i ostatak grupe i dalje biti tu kao solo izvodjaci. Girls Aloud su definitivno bile odlicna grupa sa velikim hitovima (neke od mojih omiljenih mozete videti ispod), ali sam znao da ce se ovo kad tad desiti. Sva sreca te Velika Britanija ima toliko dobrih pevaca i grupa da se odsustvo devojaka nece toliko primetiti.
After having huge success with his last album Recovery, Eminem is getting ready to release his eight studio album after Memorial day this year. That means that Marshall's fans can expect the album in June, at earliest. His team has said that the album can be expected probably during summer since Eminem will have some gigs in Europe this August. Knowing that he hasn't released any new solo singles since 2011, this will definitely be good news for his fans. I am also very eager to hear some new Shady music whether it is serious stuff like Not Afraid, or goofy song like Ass Like That. Nakon velikog uspeha koji je postigao sa svojim poslednjim albumom Recovery, Eminem je spreman da izda svoj osmi studijski album nakon Dana pomena u Americi. To znaci da ce njegovi fanovi moci da ocekuju ovaj album najranije u junu. Eminemov tim je saopstio da ce album najverovatnije biti izdat u toku leta s obzirom da Eminem ima nekoliko nastupa u Evropi tokom avgusta. Posto nije izdao nijedan novi singl od 2011, ovo je sigurno sjajna vest za njegove fanove. Kako spadam u njegove fanove, i ja jedva cekam da cujem nesto novo od Slim Shady-ja bez obzira da li to bila neka ozbiljnije pesma poput Not Afraid ili otkacena poput Ass Like That.
This Monday it will be exactly one year since the legendary Whitney Houston passed away. In light of that, the famous wax museum Madame Tussands has revealed four sculptures of the diva. Gotta say the New York and the Washington sculptures (the first two on the left) look pretty close to Whitney. The singer who won six Grammys will be remembered in a documentary that will air an hour before this year's Grammy awards. Makes sense knowing she passed away last year, just the night before the 2012 Grammys. Also, in a recent poll by Harris Interactive, the US population chose the singer's hit I Will Always Love You as the best love song of all times. Seems even though she has been missing for a year, the singer's legacy will last for a long time. Ovog ponedeljka ce biti tacno godinu dana od kada je legendarna Whitney Houston preminula. Moguce je da je upravo zato poznati muzej vostanih figura Madam Tiso sada svetu otkrio cetiri figure poznate dive. Moram priznati da prve dve figure sa leve strane (koje predstavljaju Whitney u Vasingtonu i Njujorku) dosta podsecaju na Whitney. Pevacica, koja je osvojila sest gremi nagrada, ce biti glavna tema dokumentarca koji ce biti na televiziji sat vremena pre ovogodisnje dodele gremija. Ova vest je donekle i ocekivana znajuci da je pevacica preminula prosle godine, vece pred tadasnju dodelu nagrada. Pored svega ovoga, pevacicin hit I Will Always Love You, je od strane Americke publike izabran za najbolju ljubavnu pesmu svih vremena. Izgleda da, iako je pevacica mrtva vec godinu dana, njeni hitovi ce se dugo pamtiti.
Justin Timberlake definitely has one of the coolest album covers I have recently seen. For his The 20/20 Experience cover JT can be seen wearing a phoropter. Crazy stuff, I know. When it comes to the album's name, Justin said that it came to him after his best friend said that his new music is the music that you can see. I just hope his friend wasn't high at the time. Sto se tice imena albuma, on je dosao nakon sto je Justin-ov najbolji prijatelj za njegovu novu muziku rekao da je to muzika koja se moze videti.
